Just a personal note. I am not totally convinced that in 1904 and 1905 there were no Eggs "due to the Russo-Japanese war" as is generally accepted. Perhaps not in 1905, but 1904? Why not? At Easter 1904 the war had just begun and the Russians were convinced they were going to win...
